The Babylon 5 range of novels are interesting, with an initial run starting in the mid 1990s that, although licensed, were largely non-canon and not endorsed by showrunner, J. Michael Straczynski (JMS). Only Books 7 & 9 of the run are considered canon and both were reprinted in the early 2000s.
